A week ago Bologna saw the arrival of my friend Kåre. However much I love Italy and Bologna in particular I do miss my friends, thus such visits are very much welcome. He took a fair deal of pictures during his stay and I took a few as well. Those that were of buildings or places will mostly be left out this time as I've posted a few of those before. This will be mainly about people.
On Wednesday Kåre and I went to Adriana and Annika's place for dinner. That is, we brought the dinner and I did the cooking. I still love to cook and the dinner turned out fairly well. While I cooked Adriana and Annika finished their christmas calendar that they had made for themselves as well as all the people in their apartment. It's an awesome gesture and I wish I'd have done something similar myself. The best I can do is to post this picture of them holding their calendar.
On Friday Kåre, Adriana and I went to Venice. My second trip to the most beautiful city I've ever visited. We stayed untill quite late in the evening and I got to experience Venice after dark and it was as beautiful as it is during day, but with an extra ambience that I'm happy I go to experience. Here's another picture of one of the gorgeous canals of Venice.
It still amazes me that everything involving transportation in Venice is done by sea. This is of course one of the main reasons why Venice is so unique so it's well known. I still find some of these scenes intriguing though, and here's another one. A greengrocer selling his goods from his boat. Ah, Venice...
This picture shows the travelling party, apart from Kåre who's taking the picture, on a balcony at the University of Venice. A nice spot in winter, but probably much better in summer.
In the evening we took a break at a bar at aperitivo time. I'm the one taking the picture as Kåre and Adriana enjoy their aperitivo snack.
While we were there I managed to capture a still of Adriana while agitately talking. I don't remember what the subject was, but it was obviously of some importance :)
While waiting for the train we stopped at a bar to pick up some food to have on our train. We weren't really hungry but figured we would be during the normally two hour long trip. This piece of pistacchio-tasting cooking I simply had to buy due to it's intense green colour. It had a surprisingly fresh taste.
Saturday was Kåres last day in Bologna so we went out with some of my friends here. The place is called Le Stanze and has the best bartenders I've come across in Italy. Here follows a few pictures of us.
