"Meg feels Glad all over ... and he feels her all over"

These are the intimate pictures that prove Hollywood movie stars Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe are very much in love. The couple were spotted in a spartan restaurant in down-town LA. But they seemed oblivious to their unglamorous surroundings as they put on a very public show of affection.

Reaching across the table, Crowe, star of the movie Gladiator, touched married Meg's face before drawing her into his arms in a passionate embrace. And after two cups of cofee, Crowe draped a protective arm around Meg's shoulders and escorted her out into the bright Californian sunshine. Once again the 36-year-old New Zealander pulled the blonde actress close to him, giving her another tender kiss.

Then the couple, carrying bags of shopping, drove off towards their rented Spanish-style home in the Hollywood Hills. One onlooker said: "Meg and Russell seemed totally absorbed with each other. They were constantly whispering sweet nothings into each other's ears and giggling like teenagers." The pictures look certain to spell the end of any possible reconciliation between Meg, 38, and her actor husband Dennis Quaid.

In June the couple announced their "mutual and amicable" separation after Quaid, 46, found out about her affair with Crowe. But last month friends of Meg claimed her relationship with Crowe had cooled and that she was trying to save her nine-year marriage. Quaid and Meg were seen kissing as they walked on the beach near their house in Santa Monica. She even moved back into the family home to give their relationship a second chance for the sake of their eight-year-old son Jack. But days later Meg filed her own request for divorce, citing "irreconciblable differences".
